A pop-up wedding at the Starling Homestead in Waipara, is a beautifully planned, fully coordinated mini wedding experience — every detail is thoughtfully managed for you, from the celebrant & tablescaping, to the photography, seasonal bouquet and cake.
Just choose from one of our three timeslots throughout the day, arrive with your loved ones, and enjoy a ceremony and celebration without the planning or pressure.
Hosted at the Starling Homestead, 10 minutes north of Amberley in the North Canterbury wine region, a Pop Up wedding is a perfect option for couples seeking an elegant, relaxed alternative to a large wedding, just under an hour north of Christchurch.

Can I add on accommodation?
For couples booking the last time slot of the Pop Up Wedding day then yes, there is an option to add on a nights accommodation at The Stables.
Alternatively, for the other time slots, we can help book you a nights accommodation at one of the wonderful local Bed and Breakfast accommodation options located within a few minutes of the Starling Homestead.

What is the cancellation policy?
Cancellations made with 12 months notice prior to your scheduled date will receive a refund minus any non refundable deposits paid to vendors

Can we extend the celebration?
Absolutely! While the Pop Up Wedding itself is designed to be a short and sweet ceremony and celebration, couples have the option to continue the day at a nearby Waipara winery.
Book a table, enjoy a glass of wine and soak in the stunning scenery.

What are the bathroom facilities?
You and your guests will have the use of The Stables accommodation during your Pop Up Wedding, this includes bathroom facilities & somewhere to leave coats & bags

Can I bring my dog?
Sorry no, not to our Pop Up Weddings - however we welcome dogs (even horses!) to our other wedding package options so perhaps check one of those out to see if its the right fit for you.

Are you flexible on guest numbers?
Our Pop Up Weddings are designed to be an intimate experience. To keep the celebration personal and relaxed we allow up to 12 people total.
Head count includes the newly weds, bridal party and children over the age of two - anyone requiring a seat basically!

What is the wet weather option?
The Barn is our wet weather backup option & remains dry year round.
